Symantec Endpoint Protection is great until it is really annoying and interfering with everything you do.
Here’s how to stop it dead in its tracks:
Goto to command prompt:
windows xp:
click start -> run -> type “cmd” (no quotes) -> hit enter
windows 7:
Once you are at the command prompt…
To disable Symantec Endpoint Protection:
[wp_ad_camp_1]
net stop "Symantec Antivirus"
To Enable Symantec Endpoint Protection
net start "Symantec Antivirus"
Additionally to stop smc server (from run prompt) run:
smc -stop
[wp_ad_camp_2]
