Reset Mac OSX User Password Without CD disk from command line

Forgot your mac admin password? Just want root?

This works on mac OS X Tiger – Snow Leopard

Reboot your mac
When you hear the chime, Hold apple + s (this puts you in single user mode)
Upon reaching the terminal prompt input the following:

mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -r now

What have we done? You’ve deleted the file that tells apple it has completed the inital mac setup! You have now created a new admin account!
